Old and New Parton Distribution and Fragmentation Functions * )
A short review of problems with parton distribution functions in nucleons, non-polarized and polarized, is given. The main part is devoted to the transversity distribution its possible measurement and its first experimental probe via spin asymmetry in semi-inclusive DIS. It is argued that the proton transversity distribution could be successfully measured in future DIS experiments with longitud...
متن کاملSelected recent HERMES results on parton distribution and fragmentation functions
The HERMES experiment has studied for more than a decade deep-inelastic scattering of electrons/positrons from longitudinally and transversely polarised and also unpolarised atomic gas targets internal to the electron storage ring of HERA. The collected semi-inclusive data allowed to extract informations about various quark distribution and fragmentation functions. Examples presented in this co...
متن کاملPerturbative renormalization in parton distribution functions using improved actions
We calculate the 1-loop renormalization of a set of extended fermionic bilinears which form a basis corresponding to moments of the parton distribution functions. We use the overlap action for fermions and Luescher-Weisz (LW) action for gluons. Our results are presented as a function of the overlap parameter ρ and the parameters entering the LW action.
متن کاملUnintegrated parton densities at small x
We present recent results on transverse momentum dependent parton densities in the limit of small Bjorken x. A definition of an unintegrated seaquark density is proposed which can be used within the CCFM Monte-Carlo event generator CASCADE. We further discuss aspects of the determination of a NLO BFKL unintegrated gluon density. c Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative...
متن کاملBlois07/EDS07 Proceedings Unintegrated parton distributions and correlation functions
We discuss the limitations of the standard collinear approach. The kinematical approximations necessary to derive the collinear factorization are insufficient for the description of the exclusive final states. We argue that for a proper treatment of the final states one needs to use fully unintegrated parton correlation functions. We introduce the gauge invariant definitions of these objects an...
